Five extreme slides to discover
For many of us, going to the water park is one of the highlights of summer. It’s hard to imagine a better way to literally chill out with your family and friends. But don’t take our word for it. Spend a day at the Super Aqua Club and check out all the thrilling water attractions–including five extreme water slides–for yourself!
The Tornado has become an iconic attraction at the Super Aqua Club, but when it was built in 2005, it was the first of its kind in Canada…Picture yourself going down a huge tornado-like tube. There’s an initial drop of seven stories and you end up swirling along an almost endless vortex until you finally reach the exit…So much ingenuity went into this creating this exhilarating water slide. Fun like that never gets old!
If there’s a jock in your crew who doesn’t go to water parks because he thinks there’s nothing to do there that requires physical endurance, tell him the Wipe Zone is sure to meet this athletic expectations! This vast floating obstacle course has three new features (including a halfpipe!) and improvements this year to facilitate the challenge–not that your wild friend will care about those! Your more timid friends will also love the Wipe Zone. They just need to take things a little slower and not mind sliding into the lake now and again!
You often see quite a lot of stairs in a water park. The higher you climb, the better the view, and what better observation point than the Squalls, the park’s highest individual slides? If you suffer from vertigo, you may not want to slide down from the top, but otherwise, you can choose from three thrilling slides: the covered steep squall, the uncovered steep squall, and the less steep squall, which zigzags in all directions. Just pick your poison, lie on your back, hands clasped behind your head and feet crossed, and go!
How does a slide in the form of a giant toilet bowl strike you? That would be the Typhoon, another iconic slide that was the first of its kind in Canada when it was built in 2007. And what a concept: push a quadruple tube down a huge pipe that leads to a gigantic basin. For it to emerge, the tube must swirl at high speed around the bowl before finally flowing into the emptying basin at a sweet angle. It’s enough to give you butterflies every time!
What do you get when you cross a water slide with a roller coaster? A water roller coaster known as the Tsunami! So how does it work? Easy: seated in your tripe tube, you and two other passengers drop down super-steep slopes, abruptly go up again, take a bunch of huge curves at high speed, and get sprayed like crazy! The Tsunami is the Super Aqua Club’s most recent attraction and is the only one of its kind in Canada! That’s right! It’s the only one in the country and it’s only 30 minutes from Montreal. What more can you say?
